MIDDLETOWN, Conn. - The 23rd-ranked Haverford College women's squash team (4-5) was upended by No. 21 Brown (6-4) on Sunday morning at the Rosenbaum Squash Center on the Wesleyan campus, as the Ivy League foes prevailed by an 8-1 final in the neutral-site matchup.  The Fords received their individual match victory by default at the ninth flight, as Brown had only eight healthy players rostered for the matinee.

Ariana Solecki and Catherine Fortin had perhaps the strongest performances for the Fords against the top of a talented Brown side's ladder, as Solecki made things tough for top Bears player Rachel Mashek in the third game before falling 11-4, 11-2, 11-8 at the top flight.

Playing at number two, Fortin did well to fend off some early challenges from Danielle Benstock as she recorded six and eight points in those matchups before dropping the match 11-6, 11-8, 11-3.

The contest between the Fords and Brown was the first matchup between the two sides in program history.

Haverford will return home to the GIAC Squash Courts after a weekend away from competition, taking on the squads from No. 19 Georgetown and No. 31 Vassar on Saturday, January 28. Action will begin at 10:30 a.m and can be followed via HaverfordAthletics.com with live video of all five courts and live scoring.

The following weekend (Feb. 4) will also see the Fords at home, against Bucknell for Senior Day, before heading to the Centennial Conference Round Robin at Franklin & Marshall (Feb. 11).
