Women's tennis finishes play at Swarthmore Invitational

SWARTHMORE, Pa. - The Haverford College women's tennis team completed play at the Swarthmore College Invitational hosted by Swarthmore College Sunday afternoon.

Junior Alex Ferrara and sophomore Caitlin Gallagher registered victories in the third round of singles action to finish 2-1 over the course of the two-day competition. Ferrara overcame Lisa Tessitore of Stevens Institute of Technology (6-0, 7-6 (4) while Gallagher rolled past Deb Wu of The College of New Jersey in straight sets (6-4, 6-2). Kristen Andersen also was victorious on Sunday with a 2-6, 6-3, 1-0 (10-5) win over Lexie Handel of Stevens.

Alyssa Lavin and Robyn Himelstein finished with 2-1 records as well over the course of the two-day invitational.

In doubles action, Lavin and Abigail Healy fell to Swarthmore's Katie Samuelson and Brooke Wilkins in the finals of the Flight B consolation bracket.
