HAVERFORD, Pa. – The Haverford College women's tennis team, ranked No. 11 in the Atlantic South Region, swept Bi-Co neighbor Bryn Mawr via a 9-0 score on Wednesday afternoon. The Fords (10-3, 6-2 CC) have now recorded four of their six Centennial Conference victories without dropping a match this spring.

In doubles, Haverford's pairings were 8-2 winners in both the second and third matches. Jia-Ling Tuan and Clara Farrehi recorded their first win together in the second position, while Renata DiDonato and Mima Khazanov won their first match as a doubles pairing in the third spot. That win for the DiDonato/Khazanov team was the first of both players' doubles careers at Haverford.

Playing No. 1 doubles, Emily Shutman and Jane Bary found themselves locked in a tight battle. Down 5-4 after a changeover, Haverford's No. 1 team rolled off the next four games to secure its seventh win in the top doubles match this spring. Four of those victories have been against conference opponents.

In singles, senior Annika Ulrich's 10-point tiebreak victory ultimately sealed the team sweep for the Fords. Ulrich won a 7-5 second set to erase an early deficit. She then won the tiebreak by a 10-7 score in her spring singles debut.

The Fords did not drop a set in any of the other positions. Emily Shutman blanked her opponent in both sets for her team-leading 11th win of the year. She is now 6-1 against conference foes with her highest ranked win of the year coming on this evening. Jane Bary and Izzy Angstman both allowed just one game. Bary, who played No. 1 singles, now has 10 victories in singles and is a perfect 6-0 against conference opposition. The win was her second of the year at No. 1 singles. Angstman improved to 2-0 this spring with her second CC victory of the season.

Clara Farrehi and Ananya Prakash conceded just two games in their respective matches. Farrehi blanked her opponent in the second set for her eighth victory. She is now 4-2 against Centennial Conference opponents. Prakash was a 6-1, 6-1 winner for her first collegiate victory in singles.

Women's tennis will be back at home this Saturday as the Fords take on Dickinson in a 10 a.m. match. A win this Saturday would officially clinch Haverford's spot in the Centennial Conference Tournament.
