Ramirez, Keating Take Home Event Titles at Haverford Quad Meet

HAVERFORD, Pa. – Competing in its first of two meets during back-to-back days, the Haverford College women's indoor track & field team began its week with a pair of first-place finishes in its quad meet inside the Alumni Field House on Thursday evening. Mariana Ramirez won the 800 meter race while Ellie Keating won the 3,000 meter title.

Ramirez picked up her first individual victory with a time of 2:42.63. Keating's win came in the Fords' largest contingent of runners as she crossed the line in a time of 11:42.45. Haverford had eight entrants in that event as Zoe Arditi (12:19.96), Faizah Khan (12:25.55), Eva White (12:27.01), Annemarie Wood (12:53.31), Rhea Chandran (12:54.44), Maggie Doubman (13:32.11), and Kristen Min (13:33.05) all finished in successive order.

Also on the track, Sharon Nwankpa made her indoor debut with a second-place finish in the 200 meters, crossing the line with a time of 1:06.18. Michelle Luu was fifth overall in the mile with a time of 6:28.86.

Contesting two of the field events, Mari Horton finished second in the shot put with a mark of 10.40 meters (34'-1.5"). Marisa Antinori placed fourth in the long jump as her best leap was measured at 4.42 meters (14'-6").

Women's track & field will return to competition on Friday at the NYU Invitational. That meet is scheduled to get underway at 1 p.m.
