HAVERFORD, Pa. -  The Haverford College women's indoor track & field team has been picked to finish sixth in the Centennial Conference, the conference office announced in a release on Wednesday afternoon. As is customary, head coaches were not allowed to vote for their own programs.

The Centennial Conference Track & Field coaches predict that 11-time defending champion Johns Hopkins will repeat their conference crown as the Blue Jays received all nine possible first-place votes. Swarthmore was projected to finish second with 69 points and the other first-place vote, followed closely by Dickinson in third place with 66 points. Ursinus (54) and Franklin & Marshall (49) rounded out the top five.

Haverford finished sixth in the voting with 38 points, followed by Gettysburg (33), McDaniel (22), Muhlenberg (22) and Bryn Mawr (16).

The Fords will look to take a step forward after finishing sixth at the CC indoor championships last season. Haverford earned eight USTFCCCA All-Region certificates as Angie Petrichenko and Isabel Thornberry garnered inclusion on the All-Centennial Conference squads. Petrichenko made an appearance at the NCAA Division III Indoor National Championships, finishing 13th in the 5,000 meters.

Haverford will open their season on Friday, December 9th as Annick Lamar's squad heads to the Bow Tie Meet on the campus of Ursinus. Action will begin at 4 p.m. The 2022 Centennial Conference Indoor Track & Field Championships are currently slated for February 25 and February 26 at Franklin & Marshall.
