HAVERFORD, Pa. - Haverford College track & field senior Isabel Thornberry has earned a spot on the 2024 Philadelphia Sports Information Directors (PhillySIDA) Academic All-Area team, the organization announced in a release this morning.
Thornberry is joined on the PhillySIDA Academic All-Area team by Academic Performer of the Year Roschell Clayton of Villanova, Rowan's Izzy Deal, Molly Lodge and Anna Sasse; Penn seniors Olivia Morganti and Bella Whittaker; Widener's Maria Muzzarelli and Gabriella Nye; Alexis Marini from Rutgers-Camden; and Brooke Adams from Ursinus.
The PhillySIDA Academic All-Area teams are voted on by the sports information offices of 30 institutions from the Philadelphia metropolitan area. In order to be eligible for Academic All-Area, an athlete must be in his or her second year at the institution and hold a cumulative grade point average of 3.30 or better.
Last month, Thornberry took home Haverford's most prestigious academic honor for varsity athletes, as she was named the William W. Ambler '45 Award winner for the 2024 class, an award presented to the top student-athlete by GPA in the senior class. Thornberry was also the 2023 CC Outdoor Track & Field Academic Performer of the Year. A two-time All-Conference performer, this is her second consecutive PhillySIDA Academic All-District selection.
