HAVERFORD, Pa. - The Haverford College volleyball team (8-4, 2-0 CC) moved to 2-0 in Centennial Conference play with a 3-0 sweep of Bryn Mawr (6-6, 0-2 CC) inside Gooding '84 Arena on Wednesday night, prevailing by set scores of 25-15, 25-15, 25-13 in its first home match since September 11. The Fords hit .326, notching 13 service aces in the triumph.

Annibelle Ernst had eight kills to pace the Fords, while Eliana Brown and Kendall Otridge each added seven. Cameryn DeBlecourt notched 15 assists and five service aces while Gabrielle Fontanilla added 13. DeBlecourt recorded eight digs while Juliet Young notched seven. Taylor Jones had four total blocks.

Haverford and Bryn Mawr traded points in the early goings, with the Fords gaining some separation down the stretch with a 4-0 run to force a Bryn Mawr timeout at 14-9. The stretch featured back-to-back kills from Brown and a service ace from DeBlecourt. The Fords grew the advantage to 19-10 behind a strong turn from Brown at the service line, and a service ace from Fontanilla came before a kill from Izabela Potocnjak, as Haverford flexed its muscles a bit, ahead by 10 at 23-13 forcing another Owls' timeout. Eventually, kills from Ernst and Brown down the stretch sealed the set at 25-15.

In the second, the Fords and Owls were again tied in the early goings before Haverford unleashed a run to take a 13-7 advantage with Potocnjak at the service line. Eventually, the lead ballooned to 22-14 as Jadyn Elliott tallied a kill. Strong play down the stretch from Fontanilla helped set up Ernst for a kill before Fontanilla added a kill of her own to seal the second set at 25-15.

The third set saw Haverford in command to begin play, jetting out to a 13-4 lead as that stretch featured six service aces. Another DeBlecourt service ace made the score 22-11 in favor of the Fords, and Caroline Lucas added the final point of the contest with a kill to reflect the 25-13 final in the third.

Bryn Mawr was paced by Zoe Boxill, who added six kills, while Sydney Collins hit a team-best .182. Anna Dravk had 14 assists for the visitors.

The contest was the first during Haverford Athletics' Pride Week, which continues through October 3, as Haverford's Play with Pride Club hosted a rainbow cupcake giveaway.

Haverford now returns to action on Saturday, heading down to Baltimore for a much-anticipated rematch of the 2021 Centennial Conference Championship match against Johns Hopkins. The contest will begin at noon. The tri-match afternoon inside Goldfarb Gym will also see the Fords take on York College (Pa.) at approximately 2 p.m.
