Live Results | Championship Central

CENTER VALLEY, Pa. - The Haverford College men's and women's cross country teams will participate in Saturday's NCAA Metro Region Championships at DeSales University. The women's race is slated for 11 a.m. while the men's race will kick off at approximately noon.

WHAT'S AT STAKE
Each team at the NCAA Regionals is limited to a maximum of seven participants. A total of 10 teams in each gender (each regional champion) will automatically qualify for the national championship on November 19 in Lansing, Mich. There will also be 22 at-large teams selected by the NCAA committee. Those selections will be announced on Sunday, November 13 in a release on NCAA.com -- The top-seven runners not from a qualifying team will also earn an automatic berth to the NCAA championship, with those bids also finalized and announced in the NCAA selection release on Sunday. The top 35 finishers in the meet will earn All-Region designation from the USTFCCCA.

LOOKING FOR A REPEAT
Saturday is a chance to return to the NCAA podium for both teams as last season, both the men's and women's squads captured the inaugural Metro Region Championship at Rowan University, as the men's squad captured its 28th ticket to the NCAA National Championships, while the women's team earned its first regional crown in program history with a thrilling run to that breakthrough title.

LAST TIME OUT
Haverford hosted the Centennial Conference Championships two weeks ago, with the men's team edged by Johns Hopkins in a back-and-forth battle that saw the Blue Jays eke out a victory at the Alumni Cross Country Course.

The Blue Jays prevailed by just three points, 33-36, ascending to the top of the podium by the thinnest of margins. The finish was the second-closest in the history of the Centennial Conference, with only Haverford's one-point victory in 2018 a closer battle between the two powerhouses.

Ryan Kredell captured the individual championship in, 24:36.4, becoming the first individual champion from Haverford since Henry Woods earned the crown en-route to All-America honors in 2017.

A pair of sophomores also earned First-team All-Conference honors with Peter LaRochelle notching a sixth place finish in 25:00.07 and Miles Colescott finishing in tandem in 25:00.08. Aaron Bratt was also a top 10 finisher, crossing in ninth (25:03.50) to earn second-team All-Centennial. Peter Buckley crossed in 13th (25:09.9) and Jamie Moreland was 14th (25:13.4) to earn second-team designation as Haverford finished with six of the 14 total All-Conference honorees. The women's squad was paced by Katie Hirsche, who paced her way to a seventh-place finish in 22:27.3 to pick up first-team All-CC honors.

Following Hirsche was Krysta Nichols, who crossed in 59th overall in 25:37.10. Sophia Furman was the next Haverford runner to cross the finish in 78th (27:08.4), while Audrey Carter notched an 80th-place finish (27:16.9) and Annemarie Wood rounded out the Haverford contingent in 28:16.
