Full Centennial Conference Release

LANCASTER, Pa. - The Centennial Conference has officially launched its comprehensive three-year strategic plan dedicated to diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI).

It is only through the collective efforts of every Centennial Conference constituency group that we can successfully create a welcoming and inclusive environment on each campus."

The conference's legacy of commitment to DEI has garnered national recognition, and the introduction of the strategic plan has provided the Centennial with measurable goals and a clear direction for the future.

"Cultivating a diverse and inclusive community is fundamental to defining who we are and who we aspire to be," said Dr. Kathleen Harring, President at Muhlenberg College. "As chair of this year's Presidents Council, I want to express my deep gratitude for the important diversity, equity and inclusion (DEI) efforts accomplished so far by the conference. There remains considerable work ahead, and I'm excited to share our next steps."

The Centennial Conference contracted The Red Brick Road Consulting and Coaching as a consulting partner to help develop the three-year strategic DEI plan. This collaboration has led to a focused DEI strategy, tailored to meet the specific needs and aspirations of the conference.

The strategic plan was crafted following extensive research involving focus groups and surveys conducted with the conference's membership. In response to the members' voice, the Centennial Conference has centered three themes as strategic directions in the coming years.

1. Supplement Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion-Related Programming and Learning Opportunities

To foster an inclusive environment for the Centennial membership, we commit to enhancing diversity, equity, and inclusion-related programming and learning opportunities.

2. Create Visibility of Conference-Wide DEI Communication and Outreach

Enhance our communication channels to ensure that DEI-related updates, events, and initiatives are widely shared and accessible.

3. Enhance Inclusive Policies and Practices Across Member Institutions

Enhance inclusive policies and practices that address diversity, equity, and inclusion across all member institutions.
