Full Centennial Conference Release

HAVERFORD, Pa. - Haverford College Baseball senior Mike Rabayda has been named the Centennial Conference Baseball Pitcher of the Week, the conference office announced in a release on Tuesday morning.

After missing the 2023 season due to injury, Rabayda returned in full force for the Fords on Saturday against Gwynedd Mercy. The senior threw five scoreless innings with seven strikeouts to earn the win in the 6-2 victory over the Griffins. The Council Rock South product only gave up one walk and two hits in the outing, with both hits surrendered being infield singles.

During the 2022 campaign, Rabayda made 12 starts and struck out 93 batters, totaling 13.22 strikeouts per nine innings. 

Previously named the Centennial Conference Pitcher of The Week in April of 2022, the Richboro, Pa. native earned Second-Team All-Conference honors that season and was selected to the ABCA All-Region 5 Third-team following a campaign in which he compiled a 3.98 ERA with 93 strikeouts against just 26 walks in 63.1 innings of work. 

Next up for Rabayda and the Fords is a doubleheader against NYU on Saturday, March 2, with the first pitch of game one slated for noon. The contests will take place at Staten Island University Hospital Community Park, the home of the Atlantic League's Staten Island FerryHawks.
