LANCASTER, Pa. -  Haverford returns to its 15th Centennial Conference tournament on Tuesday afternoon (1:30 p.m.), opening action at Caplan Field on the Baker campus of Franklin & Marshall College.

About the Matchup
The host Diplomats (19-19, 11-7 CC) will take on the Fords (21-14, 11-7 CC) in Tuesday's opening round. The stakes are high as the winner of the matchup will enter into the double-elimination portion of the tournament, while the loser will be eliminated.

Diplomatic Affairs
The long-time rivals first met during the 1916 season, and Franklin & Marshall holds a slight 59-41-2 edge in the all-time series.

Fords In The NCAA Statistical Rankings - Individual
Senior co-captain Mike Rabayda has been one of the best pitchers in the nation this season, as he currently leads the Centennial Conference and is 26th in the nation with 74 strikeouts. Rabayda is also 23rd in the nation for victories (7). Offensively, junior shortstop and co-captain Harry Genth also appears in numerous national rankings, as he is the national leader across all three divisions for stolen bases per game (1.28). He is fourth in total steals (37), and also ranks within the top 30 in the nation for home runs per game (23rd, 0.34), and runs per game (27th, 1.41).

Fords in the NCAA Statistical Rankings - Team
As a team, the Fords have been lethal on the base paths, as Haverford ranks first in the conference and second in the nation in stolen bases (140), and stolen bases per game (4.0). Haverford is also third in the Centennial Conference for home runs (27).

Scouting The Opponents
Offensively, Jakob Hoffman leads the Diplomats in batting average, slugging, and on-base percentage while Bobby Falese has provided a jolt of power with eight home runs. Hoffman has a team-best 45 RBI while tied with Falese with 43 runs scored. Drew Butera is also a threat offensively with 14 doubles and a pair of triples on the season. Although not as prolific on the basepaths as the Fords, Michael von Zuben had a team-high 19 for F&M. On the hill, Dan Galef has logged a team-high 48.2 innings and picked up six wins. Peter Mullen has a team-high 53 strikeouts and a staff-best 2.77 ERA.

Postseason History
The two squads last met in the Centennial Conference postseason in 2019, with the Diplomats escaping with a 2-0 victory in the semifinal matchup in Lancaster before the Fords stormed back to reach the CC Championship with a Saturday victory over the Diplomats in Baltimore. That game featured a dramatic go-ahead three-run homer from Ethan Lee-Tyson that jolted the Fords back to the CC championship game for the fourth time in eight seasons  The two sides have matched up in postseason play on 10 occasions dating back to the 2006 season. Franklin & Marshall last won the Centennial crown in 2013. Haverford's pedigree includes recent titles in 2012, 2014, and 2016.

We Meet Again
The Diplomats and the Fords split their doubleheader earlier this season in Lancaster. Haverford took game one, 7-3, before F&M run-ruled the visitors, 15-5, in game two. Mike Rabayda was credited with the victory in game one, logging seven innings while allowing two earned runs and striking out six. Drew Doyle took the hill for the final two innings and struck out three while allowing one run. Harry Genth and Kendrick Curry II each homered in the matchup.
