Davis Earns Second CC Offensive Player of the Week Honors of the Season

Full Centennial Conference Release

HAVERFORD, Pa. - Haverford field hockey senior co-captain Ravenel Davis has picked up her second Centennial Conference Offensive Player of the Week honors of the season, the conference office announced in a release on Tuesday morning. Davis earns the honor after matching a career best with six points in a 4-1 win over McDaniel on Saturday afternoon.

The Richmond, Va. product was integral as the Fords controlled the contest with the Green Terror to the tune of a 24-5 shot advantage. Davis assisted on the opening strike from Dalia Bercow and then added her own pair of goals as the lead ballooned to 4-0. This is the third consecutive week that Haverford has been honored by the conference office as Hannah Roth was also honored as Defensive Player of the Week last Tuesday as the Fords blanked then-No. 8 Rowan. Roth earned NFHCA Defensive Player of the Week plaudits in addition to the conference award.

Davis currently leads the Centennial Conference in goals (12), points (26), and shots (45). In the latest release of the national statistical rankings, Davis is fifth in all of NCAA in goals per game (1.5) and seventh in points per game (3.25).

Haverford is currently out to its best start in program history, and the Fords can set a new program-long win streak on Wednesday as the squad has matched its school record with eight consecutive wins, a feat last achieved during October 1990.

Davis and the Fords return to action tomorrow with a tilt at Bi-Co partner Bryn Mawr. The contest is slated to begin at 4:30 p.m. and will serve as a precursor to a home matchup with No. 2 Johns Hopkins on Saturday, October 2. That contest is slated for a 1 p.m. start on Swan Field.
