Full Centennial Conference Release
HAVERFORD, Pa. - Haverford College men's basketball junior Josh Love has been named the Centennial Conference Men's Basketball Player of the Week, the conference announced in a release on Tuesday morning. The honor is the first weekly award for the two-time Centennial Conference Academic Honor Roll recipient.
Love averaged 16.5 points and 8.5 rebounds per game in Haverford's two victories last week over non-conference foe Drew and Centennial rival Gettysburg. The guard opened the week with a 15-point, 10-rebound double-double in a 73-66 win against Drew. In a comeback victory over Gettysburg, Love tallied 18 points and seven boards and hit a huge three-pointer to give the Fords the lead for good with under a minute left as the Fords erased a 10-point deficit in the final five minutes. He averaged 3.0 three-pointers per game, hitting at a 50 percent clip from downtown.
The Mill Valley, Calif. product currently ranks fourth in the conference in three-point percentage (45.7) and in the top 10 in total rebounds (54). His 11.7 points per game this season ranks 18th in the Centennial.
Men's basketball is currently on a break from action for the final exams period and winter holidays, returning to action on January 8, 2022, against No. 12 Johns Hopkins at Gooding Arena. Tip-off for that contest is slated for approximately 1 p.m. as the game will take place ahead of the women taking on the Blue Jays at 3 p.m.
