Men's Lacrosse Sweeps CC Weekly Awards Haul

HAVERFORD, Pa. - The Haverford College men's lacrosse team has swept the weekly release of the Centennial Conference Player of the Week Awards, with senior attacker Sean Mowatt-Larssen picking up Offensive Player of the Week while sophomore faceoff specialist Teddy Carlin earned Defensive Player of the Week honors.

Mowatt-Larssen totaled eight goals and three assists in a 2-0 week for the Fords that included victories over 18th-ranked Stevens and Mary Washington. In Wednesday's 11-9 triumph over the nationally-ranked Ducks, Mowatt-Larssen scored all four of his goals in the second quarter and added one assist to give Haverford a cushion it would not relinquish. In a 15-14 win over Mary Washington on Saturday, he tallied four goals and two assists to help the Fords to the comeback win.

Carlin had a major impact as the Fords took down 18th-ranked Stevens and followed that up with a victory over Mary Washington for a perfect 2-0 week at home. Against Stevens, Carlin grabbed 11 faceoff wins and scooped four ground balls as Haverford took down a ranked opponent for the first time since April of 2019. On Saturday, Carlin then made his presence felt on the final scoreline in a comeback win over Mary Washington, keeping his team in the contest with a program-record 25 face-off wins. That total is also the most in the nation in a single contest so far this season.

Carlin's impressive total eclipses the 24 wins from Sebastian Mankowski in 2004 and was just the second time a Haverford player had gone above 20 wins in a single contest. Carlin also scooped nine ground balls to put an exclamation mark on an outstanding day at the X.

Haverford (2-1) now heads out on a spring break trip to Upstate New York, with a showdown at Skidmore scheduled for Saturday (1 p.m.) before taking on Ithaca on Tuesday, March 8. The Fords return home for a matchup with Susquehanna on March 12.
