CARLISLE, Pa. - The Haverford College men's soccer team (1-2-7, 0-1-3 CC) took on Dickinson (4-3-2, 0-2-2 CC) in a feisty affair under the lights at Phyllis Joan Miller Memorial Field at Dickinson Park. The contest ended in a 0-0 draw. The draw marks the conference-leading seventh tie for the Fords.

The Scarlet and Black found themselves behind the first chance of the contest, as in the 6th minute Thomas Vanni soared a shot just high over the frame.

The first save of the contest occurred in the 24th minute off a Haverford set piece. A ball from Tomas Ascoli was whipped into the box and headed right back up into the air. Kieran Kunihiro rose to the occasion and ended one backwards, but right into the hands of Dickinson keeper Alexander Henrich.

A physical and chippy first half saw 11 fouls shared between the two teams. Despite the heavy amount of fouls, there were no cards issued in the first half. Henrich led the first half with two saves.

The first half saw Haverford lead the way in shots, as they outshot the Red Devils 8-5.

It took until the 58th minute for the first shot of the second half. After Saul Iwowo got taken down just outside of the box, Dickinson found themselves with an extremely dangerous opportunity. Finn Weber had a fantastic look on goal, but hooked his curling free kick high over the bar.

Weber was back on the attack in the 73rd minute, launching a dangerous shot to the middle of the net that was blocked by the Haverford defense.

The chippiness picked back up in the second half, when Jackson Wolf picked up the only yellow card of the game for a late slide tackle from behind.

Arguably the best chance of the game came in the 75th minute off a free kick for the Fords. Ascoli chipped in a dangerous lofted pass to the back post hoping to have a teammate get a head to it. Instead, the ball clanged off the post and conveniently into the hands of Henrich, ending the nail-biting chance.

With ten minutes to go, Dylan Ioffreda was finally called into action. Weber yet again made his way into the box with some nifty one-on-one moves, and ripped a hard shot on the ground towards goal. Ioffreda was able to get in the path of the goal and scoop up the ball with ease.

With just over six minutes to go, Haverford thought they had their goal. Aidan Lacy was able to slash his way through the Red Devil defense and made his way into the box. He unleashed a shot on net, but after a bobble from Henrich, the Dickinson goalkeeper was able to pounce on the rebound.

Almost two minutes later, it was time for the Red Devils' to take a promising chance. Tyson Burling was able to break away from the Haverford defense to find himself on an angle with Ioffreda right in front of him. Burling ripped a shot that forced a sliding save from the Fords keeper, to keep the game deadlocked at zero.

That shot would mark the last efforts of the contest, as both teams found themselves tied 0-0. Both teams also found themselves in a stalemate in shots, as Haverford and Dickinson both recorded 12.

Vanni and Ascoli led the Fords with two shots each, while Burling and Weber paced the Red Devils in shots with four each.

Henrich ended the contest with four saves, while Haverford's Ioffreda recorded two saves.

The Fords will return to Walton Field on Tuesday, October 3 as they take on Rutgers-Camden in a non-conference contest. The matchup is also the annual Play with Pride Game. Kick off is slated for 4 p.m.
