Adam Chow Named Centennial Conference Men's Tennis Player of the Week

Full Centennial Conference Release

HAVERFORD, Pa. - Haverford Men's Tennis sophomore Adam Chow has been named the Centennial Conference's Player of the Week, the conference office announced in a release on Tuesday.

Chow secured the match-clinching point in Haverford's 5-4 win over Stevens on Saturday. With the match deadlocked at 4-4, Chow and Stevens' Matt Luzzi were left on the court at No. 5 singles to decide the outcome.

Luzzi gave Stevens some momentum with a 6-4 victory in the first set, but Chow rallied back for the Fords, firing off consecutive 6-3 wins to clinch the match, 4-6, 6-3, 6-3, setting off a raucous celebration as his teammates mobbed him on the court. The victory was the first of Chow's career as the sophomore did not see action in the lineup during Haverford's one match during the 2021 season.

With first year Head Coach Eric Spangler at the helm, Haverford will now embark for a Friday afternoon match at Salisbury (4 p.m.) before heading out on the spring break trip to Orlando, Florida. The spring break trip sees the Fords challenging themselves against a tough group of competition, taking on Emerson and 2021 year-end No. 13 Wesleyan (Conn.) on the first day of action (Mar. 7) before matchups with 2021 year-end No. 9 North Carolina Wesleyan and Wittenberg on the second day (Mar. 9).

The final day of play in the Sunshine State is set for March 11 with battles set against defending national finalist Case Western Reserve, and Manhattanville.
