ORLANDO, Fla. - The 40th-ranked Haverford College men's tennis (4-3) team split the day of action in Central Florida, grabbing a victory over Manhattanville in the morning match before falling to No. 1 Case Western Reserve in the afternoon battle between ranked squads.

Against the Valiants of Manhattanville, the Fords looked strong in the early goings, with the doubles pairing of Jason Edmonds and Stefan Johnson making quick work of the Manhattanville pairing at the top flight by an 8-2 final. The third pairing saw Max Beckwith and Kirin Eicher team up, as that pairing delivered an 8-2 victory to put the Fords up 2-0 in the early goings. Haverford was up 7-2 at the second pairing before Manhattanville retired, handing the Fords the commanding lead entering the singles competition as James McKenzie and Adam Chow picked up the win.

In singles play, McKenzie made quick work of Dylan Crowley to begin things, and Haverford clinched the match as Patrick Kley dispatched Nick Schlapack by a 6-3, 6-2 final. Abhinav Nallapareddy got the best of Weston Goodwin at the third flight (6-3, 6-4) and Danny Loder than defeated Ryan Rosenberg (6-1, 6-3) ahead of Andreas Wingert taking down James Hourihan (6-1, 6-3) at the top flight. Beckwith brought things home with his victory over Shiel Logandan (6-2, 6-2).

Competing later in the day against the newly minted ITA Indoor National Champions, Haverford was faced with a daunting task of going up against the nation's top ranked squad in their second match of the day. The Fords struggled for consistency in doubles, but the pairing of Kley and Chow won five games to set the tone going into doubles, proving the Fords would not go down without a fight against the highly touted Spartans. In single splay, Chow was again a standout, as he grabbed eight total points in his match against Anthony Kanam.

George Jiang put up a solid showing at the top flight against Ansh Shah, the 10th ranked player in the nation. Jiang grabbed seven total games, falling 6-3, 6-4.

With the spring trip in the rearview, the Fords now return home from the spring trip for a home contest against TCNJ on Saturday, March 26. The match is slated to begin at 1 p.m in a precursor to conference play.
