HAVERFORD, Pa. - Haverford College first-year Marko Arboleda has been named as a selection to the NCAA Individual Championships, as the selections were announced Wednesday evening in a press release on NCAA.com.

The individual championships consist of 32 singles players and 16 doubles teams. The  selection of teams and individuals for the championships is based on won-lost record, strength of schedule and eligibility and availability of student-athletes.

Arboleda, the 18th ranked player in the Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) Atlantic South region, enters the NCAA tournament after ranking second among singles players in the NCAA's Region III. The first-year from Chappaqua, N.Y. went 15-6 in his rookie singles campaign, including an 11-4 mark in dual-match action. Arboleda was 9-3 at the first flight and won six of his last nine singles matches.

Kevin Caulfield was the last Haverford men's player to reach the national tournament, doing so during the 2013 campaign as a senior. In total, Arboleda becomes the sixth selection in program history the NCAA singles tournament. The team championship will take place May 21-24, while the individual championships will be May 26-28, both at Dwight Davis Tennis Center, St. Louis, Missouri; hosted by Washington University in St. Louis.

The draw for the individual championship will be done by the men's tennis committee and will be released on May 25 not before 12 p.m. Eastern time.

The 2023 singles title went to Rishabh Sharda of Tufts, while Case Western Reserve's  James Hopper and Vishwa Aduru claimed the 2023 doubles title at the USTA National Campus in Orlando, Florida. Case Western Reserve is the defending national champion, having defeated Tufts 5-2 to take the team title in 2023.
