Moreland Earns Second CC Track Athlete Of The Week Award Of 2022

Full Centennial Conference Release

HAVERFORD, Pa. - For the second time this season, Haverford men's track & field junior Jamie Moreland has been named the Centennial Conference Track Athlete of the Week. The award comes off the heels of a dominating performance in the mile at the Frank Colden Invitational on the campus of Ursinus College.

The Los Angeles native clocked a personal-best time of 4:10.26 in the mile at the Frank Colden Invitational, the sixth-fastest indoor mile time in Division III this season, the eighth-fastest in Centennial Conference history, and the 10th-fastest in Haverford history.

Moreland's time is the fastest in the Centennial by over two seconds and is tops in the Metro Region by more than five seconds. The time bodes well for Moreland's second consecutive qualification to nationals, as he was previously named an All-American in the mile after the shortened 2020 campaign.

Previously, the reigning Centennial Conference Track Performer of the Year was named the Track Athlete of the Week in February of 2020 and most recently last month, when he ran the Centennial's top 800-meter time at the TCNJ Lions Invite in New York City.

Moreland and the Fords will next be in action on Friday afternoon for the Fasttrack National Invitational (1 p.m.) at the Ocean Breeze Complex on Staten Island, N.Y.
