Men's Track & Field Tunes Up With Frank Colden Invitational

COLLEGEVILLE, Pa. - The 15th-ranked Haverford College men's indoor track & field team wrapped up a busy weekend of competition on Saturday afternoon, with a grouping of Haverford runners heading to the Frank Colden Invitational at Ursinus College. 

In the men's mile, William Harris took a 12th-place finish in 4:37.40 to pace the Haverford contingent, a new personal-best for the junior. Just behind Harris was Nick Scardigno, who logged an 18th-place showing in 4:41.28. Joseph De Rosa was the 23rd harrier to cross in a personal-best 4:45.10, while Seamus Flannery crossed 32nd (4:49.52), and Tommaso Wheeler was 46th to finish, posting a new personal record of 4:57.09. 

Kieran McDonnell logged a 52nd place showing in the event (5:06.54), while Xingyun Yang added a personal record (5:16.98) for 57th and Deven Abrams rounded out the Haverford contingent in 5:20.99. In the 800 meters, Sam Diaz was the 25th to cross (2:10.20) while Seawon Park also finished in the top 40 with a 35th-place showing (2:15.38). 

Leo Gordon took a 53rd place finish in the 400 meters, logging a time of 1:00.13, while Matthew Ruiz was the 62nd to cross the line in 1:06.49. In the 200 meters, Kevin Villafane finished 60th (27.57), and Ruiz was 63rd (28.40) while Jonah Hoffman-Weitsman crossed 64th (28.43). 

The Haverford 4x200 meter relay team finished 17th in 1:51.22, as Caesar Dai, Villafane, Gordon, and Hoffman-Weitsman participated in that event for the Fords. 

Men's Track & Field will again look for some more strong marks next weekend as the team heads to Staten Island, New York for the Fastrack National Invitational on Friday, February 10 The meet is scheduled to begin at 12 p.m.
