HAVERFORD, Pa. - Haverford men's track & field junior Jamie Moreland has been named to the PhillySIDA Academic All-Area team, the Philadelphia Sports Information Directors Association (PhillySIDA) announced in a release on Friday morning. The team is selected through voting conducted by the sports information offices at 30 institutions in the Philadelphia Metropolitan area. In order to be eligible for Academic All-Area honors, an athlete must be in at least his or her second year at the institution and hold a cumulative grade point average of 3.30 or better.

A Los Angeles product, the Growth & Structure of Cities major takes home the honor after another standout campaign. He was an All-America finisher in the mile at the NCAA Outdoor Track & Field Championships last month in Geneva, Ohio, and also earned first-team All-Centennial Conference in that distance. Moreland joined an illustrious list of Haverford College All-Americans in the outdoor 1,500m, becoming the 29th in program history in the event.

A repeat performer on the Academic All-Area squad, Moreland has also earned 2020 All-America status in the indoor mile as well as the Centennial Conference Indoor Track Performer of the Year in that 2019-20 season. A three-time indoor All-Region selection, Moreland also boats three first-team All-CC certificates in indoor competition.

Moreland is joined on the Academic All-Area team by 10 other standout student-athletes, including Performer of the Year Marc Minichello of Penn. Also rounding out the team were La Salle University teammates Luke Jaciw-Zurakowsky and Liam Rivard as well as Ursinus College teammates Nick Galbraith and Tyler Reilly. The other All-Area Performers include Aidan Cantine (Swarthmore), Amara Conte (Rowan), Kendall Praitis-Hill (Swarthmore), Zackary Smith (Widener) and Branden Soubik (Gwynedd Mercy).
