Eshghi Paces No. 15 Men's Cross Country at Haverford Invitational

HAVERFORD, Pa. - The Haverford College men's cross country team, the 15th-ranked team in the USTFCCCA National Coaches' Poll, hosted the Haverford Invitational on Friday afternoon on the Alumni Cross Country Course. Reza Eshghi paced the Fords with a fifth-place finish, completing the four-mile course in 20:32.2. The sophomore was joined in the top 10 finishers by Ryan Quenemoen, who crossed in 20:51.7. Seamus Fraser was the 14th to cross in 21:02.4, while Luca Ponticello (21:10.8) also logged a top 20 finish for the Fords. 

Matthew Denton (21st, 21:25.3) was the 21st to cross, ahead of Reed Solomon (23rd, 21:35.5) and Sammy Schindel (25th, 21:38.9). Michael Franco (27th, 21:40.6) also crossed within the top 30 harriers. Evan Daniels (32nd, 21:59.4), Nick Scardigno (33rd, 22:06.3), William Harris (36th, 22:14.8), Joseph DeRosa (38th, 22:21.2), Jakob Maiwald (39th, 22:22.3), and Seamus Flannery (40th, 22:25.4) were all within the top 40 to cross while Rowan Shigeno (23:08.7), Sam Diaz (23:11.2), Flyn Meadows 923:49.1), Seawon Park (23:53.4), Kieran McDonnell (23:58.2), Tommaso Wheeler (24:14.2), Deven Abrams (24:59.9), and Keqing He (27:36.7) rounded out the Haverford contingent on an ideal afternoon for racing on campus.

In the team standings, Haverford finished third behind Division I Penn and St. Joseph's, but ahead of Widener by a 47-109 margin. 

The Fords now return to action at home on Saturday, October 29 for the Centennial Conference Championships at the Alumni Cross Country Course. All of the action is slated to begin at 12 p.m.
