Four Named CSC Academic All-District for Women's Basketball

CSC Academic All-District Teams

HAVERFORD, Pa. - The Haverford College women's basketball team placed four student-athletes on the 2022-23 College Sports Communicators (formerly CoSIDA) Academic All-District team, the organization announced earlier this week. Erin Albright, Gia Flamini, Ally Landau, and Cortlyn Morris all earned the awards for the first time. Academic All-District® honorees advance to the CSC Academic All-America® ballot. First-, second- and third-team Academic All-America® honorees will be announced at the end of the month.

To be eligible for this honor a student-athlete must be at least a sophomore and have completed at least one full year at their current institution in addition to maintaining a 3.5 cumulative GPA while playing in at least half of the team's contests. The CSC Academic All-America® program separately recognizes basketball honorees in four divisions — NCAA Division I, NCAA Division II, NCAA Division III and NAIA.

Albright, a Chemistry major from Clarks Summit, Pa, has appeared in 24 games this season, logging 22 starts. She is averaging 3.9 points per game and 3.6 rebounds per game. She added a season-best 12 points in a win over Gettysburg on January 4.

Flamini, a Chemistry major from Medford, N.J. has seen time in 21 games, making 20 starts and averaging 34.7 minutes per game. She has poured in 8.2 points per game and added 3.2 rebounds per game. She has added eight double-digit scoring efforts this season.

Landau, a Psychology major from Livingston, N.J. has proved to be one of the most prolific scorers in the Centennial Conference this season, as she currently is averaging 17 points per game. Last night, she added 36 points in the win over Muhlenberg, matching a Centennial playoff record as well as a Haverford single-game record. She has recorded nine games this season with 20 or more points.

Morris, a Mathematics major from Bound Brook, N.J., has appeared in all 25 games so far this year for Haverford, averaging 7.2 points per game. She has added 98 blocks, the second most in the nation this season. Morris holds the Haverford single-game (11) record in blocks, a mark that also represents a share of the Centennial Conference single-game record in the category. She notched the Centennial Conference playoff record on Tuesday, tallying eight blocks against the Mules.

Haverford (16-9, 13-7 CC) is currently in the midst of the Centennial Conference postseason, as the Fords will play at top-seeded Johns Hopkins on Friday evening (6 p.m.) in the Centennial semifinals after earning a victory over fifth-seeded Muhlenberg in the first-round contest Tuesday evening inside Gooding Arena.
