HAVERFORD, Pa. - After a season-opening win over Montclair State in New Jersey on Saturday afternoon, the Haverford College women's lacrosse team is receiving votes in the ILWomen/IWLCA Division III Week 1 poll.

No. 1 Salisbury tops the poll with 19 first place tallies, followed by No. 2 Tufts, No. 3 St. John Fisher, No. 4 Ithaca, and No. 5 Washington & Lee.  Haverford (1-0) is joined by three other Centennial Conference schools either ranked or receiving votes in the first weekly poll. Franklin & Marshall (1-1) checks in as the sixth-ranked team in the nation, edging out No. 7 Gettysburg (3-0), while Washington College joins the Fords in receiving votes.

In the opener on Saturday, Roma Hladky and Tiffany Mikulis each registered three goals and four draw controls while Kate Severtson was a defensive standout with four caused turnovers and three ground balls. Sarah Cahn picked up the victory between the pipes with four saves.

In 2019, women's lacrosse was ranked as high as No. 20 in the national polls, checking in that high-water mark ranking on March 11 of that season.

Haverford now returns to action on Saturday, March 5 as the Fords welcome Scranton to Swan Field for a 1 p.m. opening draw. The Fords will then embark on the spring break trip to take on No. 23 Christopher Newport on Wednesday, March 9 and St. Mary's (Md.) on Saturday, March 12.
