Women's Lacrosse Climbs to No. 22 In ILWomen/IWLCA Poll

HAVERFORD, Pa. - The Haverford College women's lacrosse team (4-2) climbed to No. 22 in the latest ILWomen/IWLCA Division III National Poll, the organizations announced in a release on Monday. Haverford entered the poll at No. 24 following a triumphant 4-0 start to the season, before falling in a pair of ranked matchups at No. 8 TCNJ and home against No. 14 York. 

No. 1 Salisbury continues to top the poll, followed by Gettysburg, Middlebury, Ithaca, and Washington & Lee. Centennial foes Franklin & Marshall are ranked sixth while Washington College is also receiving votes. No. 25 St. Lawrence entered the poll after beginning the season 6-0. 

Maria Krieg was a defensive standout in both contests, scooping eight ground balls and causing two turnovers against TCNJ before following up that performance with a game-best five caused turnovers and six ground balls against York. Sarah Cahn notched 31 saves on the week. 

The Fords now head back out on the road for a pair of matchups, traveling to Albright on Wednesday (5 p.m.) before the Centennial Conference opener at No. 2 Gettysburg (1 p.m.) as the Fords do battle with the Bullets on Saturday, March 26.
