No. 22 Women's Lacrosse Tabbed Seventh In Initial Regional Rankings

NCAA Regional Rankings

HAVERFORD, Pa. - The No. 22 Haverford College women's lacrosse team (12-3, 7-1 CC) was tabbed seventh in the NCAA's initial ranked-order release of the Region IV rankings on Wednesday afternoon. These NCAA regional rankings ultimately lead up to the selection of at-large bids for the NCAA Tournament as a key criteria on the table for the selection committee.

The rankings mark the second consecutive week the Fords have been included in a regional rankings release, as Haverford was one of 10 teams listed alphabetically in last week's rankings update. Haverford solidified its number seven position with victories over regionally ranked squads Scranton (No. 9, Region IV), Christopher Newport (No. 5, Region V), and St. Mary's of Maryland (No. 7, Region VI).

In addition, Haverford's only three losses have come to regionally ranked competition, with defeats to Gettysburg (No. 1, Region IV), TCNJ (No. 1, Region III), and York (No. 4, Region IV).

Haverford wraps up the regular season on Senior Day at home against No. 4 Franklin & Marshall at noon on Saturday. The Fords have already clinched a berth in the Centennial Conference tournament, and can secure the No. 2 seed with a win over F&M. Regardless of Saturday's outcome, the two squads will rematch in a 2/3 game on Saturday, May 7 in the CC semifinals at Gettysburg. More information about the Centennial Conference tournament, including game times, will be formalized early next week.
