HAVERFORD, Pa. - The No. 22 Haverford College women's lacrosse team (12-4, 7-2 CC) has moved up to sixth in the NCAA's second ranked-order release of the Region IV rankings. Haverford was tabbed seventh in the NCAA's initial ranked-order release last Wednesday. These NCAA regional rankings ultimately lead up to the selection of at-large bids for the NCAA Tournament as a key criteria on the table for the selection committee.

The rankings mark the third consecutive regional ranking that Haverford has been included in during the duration of the 2022 season. Haverford solidified its number sixth position with victories over regionally ranked squads Scranton (No. 9, Region IV), Christopher Newport (No. 5, Region V), and St. Mary's of Maryland (No. 9, Region VI).

In addition, Haverford's only four losses have come to regionally ranked competition, with its only defeats to Gettysburg (No. 1, Region IV), Franklin & Marshall (No. 2, Region IV) TCNJ (No. 1, Region III), and York (No. 4, Region IV).

Haverford will have a shot to earn an automatic bid to the Centennial Conference tournament as semifinal action against No. 4 Franklin & Marshall is slated for Saturday. Opening draw is scheduled for 3 p.m. as the two sides rematch after playing in the regular season finale on Swan Field last Saturday. The Fords can pick up a huge regionally-ranked win with a triumph over the Diplomats. The winner advances to the CC title game against the winner of the Gettysburg/Washington College semifinal. Sunday's championship is slated for 1 p.m.
