HAVERFORD, Pa. - On Monday afternoon, Haverford College conducted a special private commencement ceremony for the final seven members from the Class of 2022 to receive their diplomas. These seven student-athletes were unable to make Saturday's graduation ceremony on campus as they were competing in the NCAA women's lacrosse tournament, Haverford's first berth in the national tournament since 1991. While the rest of the Class of 2022 was gathered in the Alumni Fieldhouse for the 184th commencement ceremony in Haverford College history, the group was in Ithaca, New York, preparing for an NCAA First Round contest with Cabrini on the campus of Ithaca College.

On Monday, the women's lacrosse seniors had a chance for a smaller, yet still as triumphant, moment in front of President Wendy Raymond, Dean of the College John McKnight, and Director of Athletics Danielle Lynch, their coaches, teammates, family and athletic department staff.  Associate Professor of Chemistry and Haverford women's lacrosse alumnae Lou Charkoudian delivered a commencement address before degrees were conferred to Caroline Alexis, Sarah Cahn, Callie Crawford, Roma Hladky, Maria Krieg, Hannah Lopez, and Kate Severtson

In a year full of big moments for the team, the final culmination of this special senior class was a fitting tribute to a group that embodied the student-athlete experience at Haverford College.
