Hladky Named 2022 IWLCA All-American

Full IWLCA Release

NORTHBOROUGH, MASS. -  Haverford College senior midfieler Roma Hladky (Randolph, N.J / Randolph) has added yet another accolade to her impressive collegiate resume as she was named a 2022 Intercollegiate Women's Lacrosse Association (IWLCA) All-American on Thursday afternoon. Hladky earned inclusion on the second-team, the first Haverford player to earn honors on the second team or higher since the 2000 season. The IWLCA has named the 57 student-athletes who were selected for one of the 2022 Division III All-American teams – honorees are divided into first, second, and third teams. This group of IWLCA All-Americans represent 33 different institutions and are the best athletes in women's lacrosse his year.

Hladky earned second-team All-American designation from the IWLCA a week after earning the honorable mention honor from US Lacrosse Magazine. The national honors come on the heels of an incredibly spirited campaign in which she finished her season in the Centennial Conference lead for goals (57), including a CC-best 36 tallies in conference competition. In addition to that impressive goals mark, she posted multiple goals in all but one game this season, including a season-best seven on two occasions, reaching that benchmark against Washington College (Apr. 16) and Swarthmore (Apr. 23). Hladky was named the Centennial Conference Midfielder of the Year on May 10.

The physics major and Ambler Scholar Athlete was a force on draws as well, with multiple draw controls won in 13 games, and multiple ground balls on five occasions. Hladky is Haverford's first second-team or higher IWLCA All-American since Lindsey Carey earned the designation during the 2000 season, a year in which she was also named the Centennial Conference Player of the Year.

Hladky guided No. 22 Haverford to a 12-6 overall record and a berth in the NCAA tournament, the program's first since the 1991 season.
