Women's Lacrosse Ranked No. 25 In Final ILWomen/IWLCA National Poll

Final ILWomen/IWLCA Poll

HAVERFORD, Pa. - The Haverford College women's lacrosse team (12-6) finished No. 25 in the ILWomen/Intercollegiate Women's Lacrosse Association (IWLCA) National Coaches Poll, the organization announced on Tuesday afternoon.

Haverford finished its season with a trip to the NCAA Tournament, the program's first since the 1991 season. The Fords were ranked as high as No. 22 in the rankings, and entered the postseason holding steady to that rank. Haverford bowed out after a tough fight against No. 6 Franklin & Marshall in the Centennial Conference semifinals and were forced to sweat out a potential at-large berth to the NCAA tournament, a call they enthusiastically received with a trip to Ithaca College to do battle with local foe Cabrini in the first round, falling 18-15 in that NCAA First Round showdown in New York.

Middlebury is the NCAA champion and No. 1 in the final ILWomen/IWLCA Poll. The Panthers topped Tufts, the No. 2 team in the final poll, 13-5 to win their eighth title. Middlebury finished the season 22-1. National Runner-Up Tufts, TCNJ, Gettysburg, and Salisbury make up the rest of the top 5. Franklin & Marshall finished the season ranked sixth. Denison and Roanoke were the two squads to jump into the final poll after ending the regular season unranked.
