HAVERFORD, Pa. – The Haverford College men's and women's tennis teams each checked in at No. 9 in the Men's and Women's Intercollegiate Tennis Association's (ITA) Atlantic South Region team rankings, the organization announced in a release this week.

In addition to Haverford's solid team rankings, top-flight singles player senior George Jiang checked in at No. 23 in the Men's ITA Atlantic South Regional singles rankings while on the women's side, first year Rachael Fitzgerald checked in at No. 25 in the Women's ITA Atlantic South Regional singles rankings.

Fitzgerald is currently 6-4 in singles play and earned a 3-0 record in tournament play at the Swarthmore College Fall Invitational in September of 2021. She also took down the top-seed in the bracket from Mary Washington at the ITA Southeast Regional. 

The Haverford Men's tennis team is 5-3 overall on the season with their first conference match taking place at home on Saturday, April 2 vs No. 12 Johns Hopkins. That match will begin at 1 p.m. at the Bramall Courts on campus. Fellow Centennial Conference foe Swarthmore sits at No. 7 in the Atlantic South regional ranking.

On the women's side, the national No. 35 Fords also have a record of 5-3 and have their first conference match today at No. 26 Swarthmore, who checked in at No. 7 in the Atlantic South Region. That match is slated to begin at 4 p.m.
