Runner Up Finishes from Reikowski, DMR Highlight Day 1 at CC Indoor Championships

COLLEGEVILLE, Pa. – The Haverford College women's track & field team got three scoring performances, including a pair of runner-up finishes, and is currently sitting in third place after day one of the Centennial Conference Indoor Championships. The Fords have 19 points heading into day two where the majority of the competition will take place.

Haverford's distance medley relay placed second in a time of 12:18.88 to become the fourth-fastest relay in school history. The team of Amelia Keyser-Gibson, Amy Zamora, Katie Sullivan, Nicole Giannetti was topped only by Johns Hopkins as that relay finished just over two seconds quicker.

Elizabeth Reikowski also earned her highest placement in the triple jump throughout her career with a second place finish. The Fords' co-captain had her best leap of the day marked of 10.63 meters to better her third place finish from a season ago.

In the pole vault, Grace Mathis cleared 2.96 meters to place sixth and earn three points towards the team score. Mathis' new personal best in the event tops her previous best by three and a quarter inches and moves her up to fourth in the College's record book.

The 2017 Centennial Conference Indoor Track & Field Championships will continue tomorrow at 11:30 a.m. with the women's shot put and 60 meter hurdles.
