HAVERFORD, Pa. - The Haverford College women's track & field team played hosts for the Haverford Dual Meet with Widener on Monday afternoon as the team nears the conference championships. After competing in slightly windy conditions, multiple athletes positioned themselves well on the performance list.

Lauren Tanel kicked things off for the Fords, winning the 1,500 meters with a personal best of 5:07.27. Following her lead were teammates Dominique Monroy (5:21.33), Selena She (5:58.00), and Taylor Seid (6:01.16), with that trio all putting in solid performances. Ella Fleming ran a personal best in the 400-meter dash as she crossed the line in 1:06.10.

Perhaps the most impressive performance came from Isabel Thornberry in the 800 meters. Fresh off of breaking 60 seconds in the quarter-mile on the weekend, she figured, what's one more lap? Thornberry crossed the finish line with the clock reading 2:18.61, the 10th best mark in program history. The sophomore's previous best was 2:22.35, as she shattered that time by nearly four seconds. She now has a sub-60 and sub-2:20 to her name, not to mention the excellent performances from the relays this season.

Katie Hirsche, who usually competes in the longer distance events, dropped down to the 800 meters and ran a personal best of 2:27.30 for second place. Annemarie Wood (2:34.23), Juliet Young (2:35.27), Hedy Goodman (2:46.20), and Kayla Robinson (2:54.58) rounded out the Haverford performances. in that event.

The 200-meter dash was the final track event of the day. Jahsaiah Moses led the way with a winning time of 26.83. Naomi Fukuda took second, running 27.65, while Alice Creed (28.75) and Rachel November (29.34) dipped under 30 seconds.

Robinson also competed in the shot put, discus, javelin, and triple jump. Her best performance came in the triple jump, where she jumped 10.66 meters (34 feet, 11.75 inches), good enough for a personal best and the ninth-best mark in program history. Robinson also won the shot put with a throw of 11.23 meters (36 feet, 10.25 inches).

Cortlyn Morris won the discus, throwing 30.70 meters (100 feet, 8.66 inches), while Sydney Cummings won the hammer throw with her fourth-round toss of 30.53 meters (100 feet, 2 inches).

The Fords now look towards the end of the week as the team will send athletes to Penn Relays Thursday-Friday and then head to Ewing, New Jersey, to compete in the TCNJ Invitational on Saturday, April 30.
