Women’s Track & Field Claims Sixth Place at CC Championships

ALLENTOWN, Pa. - The Haverford College women's track & field team wrapped up the Centennial Conference Championship weekend at Muhlenberg on Sunday afternoon, as the Fords took home sixth place overall with 49 total points. The final day was highlighted by two bronze medal performances, one in the 400 meters, and one in the 4X400 meter relay. 

The Women's 4X100 meter relay kicked off day three of the Centennial Conference championships, as the team of Nadine Tang, Olivia D'Aulerio, Abby Ryan, and Isabel Thornberry finished in seventh place  with a time of 51.13. 

In the throwing pit, Summer Ryan represented the Scarlet and Black in the javelin Throw. The junior launched the javelin 26.38 meters (86 feet, 6 inches), to pick up 10th place. 

In the shot put competition, Sahar Wilcher rocketed the shot put 11.55 meters (37 feet, 10.75 inches), to notch fourth place (five points).

After grabbing the second quickest time in school history by running 58.60 in the 400 meter prelims Saturday, D'Aulerio followed up that impressive performance Sunday, by taking home third place (six points) in the 400 meter finals, bolting to a time of 58.14. The speedy time has cemented D'Aulerio once again as she built on the second-fastest 400 meter time in Haverford history. 

D'Aulerio continued her historic day in the 200 meters, where the sophomore collected fourth place (five points) after racing to a time of 25.92, a new personal best for D'Aulerio. 

Over in the sand, Ella Fleming was the lone representative for the Fords in the triple jump. Fleming leapt a total of 9.32 meters (30 feet, 7 inches), to claim 20th place overall.

Rachel November donned the Scarlet and Black in the 400 meter hurdles, and dashed to a time of 1:14.47, which secured seventh place for the junior.

Back in the lanes, first-year distance runner Grace Chen represented the Scarlet and Black in the 5,000 meters. Chen placed 18th with a time of 18:57.94, a new personal best for the rookie. 

The 4x400 meter relay capped off the exciting day three of the Centennial Conference Championships, as the quartet of Thornberry, Dominique Monroy, Anastasia Jaycobs, and D'Aulerio zoomed to a time of 4:03.66, to earn third place (six points). 

Next up for the Haverford Women's Track & Field team, is the Widener Final Qualifying Meet in Chester, Pa. on Monday, May 13.  

The meet will be the final chance for the Fords to qualify for the NCAA Championships held May 23 through May 26  in Myrtle Beach, S.C., at Doug Shaw Memorial Stadium.
