Today was our last day in the Netherlands! We took in every single moment of it.
We started our morning at the Vincent van Gogh Museum in Amsterdam. We were going to go yesterday, but all of the tickets were completely sold out. That then prompted us yesterday at 4:55 pm to go on the website and buy tickets for what we experienced today! The museum was three floors, which showed the progression of van Gogh's art as his life progressed.
After the museum, KO, Jadyn, Gabbie, Juliet, and I all headed outside to an area where there were food vendors. They got some delicious churros, and I got a sugar waffle topped with Nutella. We went to a Birkenstocks store to browse some shoes and then went to a small souvenir shop before lunch! Our lunch was at a place that had both pitas and pizza, which were all so good!
Post-lunch we headed on the bus to Apeldoorn for our match vs. Dynamo. We got to spend some time in the city's main center beforehand as well! In regards to our match, we played five sets of hard-fought, competitive volleyball. We had some amazing highlights, especially with passing and blocking. We enjoyed dinner with the Dynamo team before heading to our hotel for our final night in the Netherlands. We leave in the morning bright and early to get back to campus for move-in and preseason!
All in all, this trip has been such a breathtaking experience, especially because I had never been to Europe before! Every second of it was enjoyable with my teammates. From Münster to Wassenaar, to Den Haag, to Amsterdam, and Apeldoorn, we all made memories that will last us a lifetime. From the scenery, the food, the gelato (which we did not get today...we lost our streak which is just sad), the volleyball, and just everything...everything was incredible.
I don't know about you guys, but I know I am so excited for another killer season of Haverford Volleyball when we get back to the states! Be sure to support us Fords.
