Dayle Comerford ’15 of the Haverford College softball team has been named to the Philadelphia Inquirer Academic All-Area Team for the first time in her career.
Haverford College softball player Dayle Comerford ’15 went to the 2015 NCAA Career in Sports Forum at the NCAA National Office from June 4-7.”It was an absolutely wonderful experience,” said Comerford about her time at the event.
The Haverford College athletic department celebrated the student-athletes in the Class of 2015 and handed out the major end of the year athletic awards.
Tatum becomes just the third player in program history to earn NFCA All-Region honors. She led the conference in both home runs and slugging percentage.
The Fords combined to win the CC Coach & Rookie of the Year, placed eight on the academic honor roll, five on All-CC team, and had one sportsmanship recipient.
In addition to her athletic success, Comerford has been named to the Centennial Conference Academic Honor Roll and served on Haverford's Student-Athlete Advisory Committee.
The Fords' senior first baseman batted .833 with a home run and two doubles during a split with Muhlenberg in the rematch of last year's conference championship.
Division III Week is Monday, April 6 through Sunday, April 12 and the Haverford SAAC has a week full of events to promote Division III Athletics at Haverford College.
The Fords collected 18 hits over the doubleheader sweep. The Fords secured a 9-1 win in five innings to start the day before closing the sweep with a 4-2 victory.
