Haverford Finishes 42nd in Learfield Sports Directors' Cup

2015-16 Learfield Sports Directors' Cup Standings

HAVERFORD, Pa. – Haverford College finished 42nd overall in the final standings of the Learfield Sports Directors' Cup. The Fords finished the 2015-16 academic year with 400.5 points. Haverford's accumulated point total is the second highest in school history. The Fords finished the 2013-14 academic year with 405.13 points.

Haverford's spring season was highlighted by softball's first-ever appearance at the NCAA Super Regionals. The Fords came up just one win shy of the College World Series and earned 64 points for their ninth place credited finish.

Baseball won the Centennial Conference for the third time in the past five seasons. At the NCAA Regional, the Fords took down top-seeded Misericordia in extra innings during the first elimination game. The team was credited with a 17th place finish and earned 50 points in the standings.

Men's outdoor track & field placed 53rd at the NCAA Championships behind a fourth place finish from Charlie Marquardt in the 1,500 meters. Marquardt capped his career as just the seventh runner in program history to earn at least six All-America certificates across all three running seasons.
