Learfield Sports Directors' Cup Final Fall Standings

HAVERFORD, Pa. – A successful fall season has the Haverford College Athletic Department second in the Centennial Conference and 22nd among all Division III schools in the first fall release of the 2016-17 Learfield Sports Directors' Cup. Haverford's 107 point total from the fall will see an increase when men's soccer is counted towards the total at the completion of the NCAA Division III Tournament.

Scoring for the Fords in the first release of the year were the men's and women's cross country teams as Haverford was one of just 17 schools in all of Division III to send both of their teams to the NCAA Championship. Field hockey and volleyball points were also counted as part of this release.

Men's cross country earned 56 points for an 18th place finish at the NCAA Championship. Haverford was led in that meet by junior Henry Woods who garnered All-America honors with his 22nd place finish. The Fords were making their 24th straight appearance at the NCAA Championship as a team.

Women's cross country bested its spot in the national rankings by nine positions to place 23rd at the national meet. That performance earned the Fords an additional 51 points in the standings. One the women's side, Haverford was making its seventh trip to the NCAA Championship in the past eight seasons.
