Seven Teams Competing for Centennial Conference Championships This Week

Centennial Conference Spring Championship Hub

HAVERFORD, Pa. – Seven Haverford College teams will compete in the Centennial Conference postseason this week as softball, baseball, men's and women's tennis, women's lacrosse, and men's and women's track & field will all compete for a Centennial Conference crown in 2019.

The action got underway yesterday as the top-seeded Haverford College softball team used a pair of three-run home runs from Marybeth Stone and Emma Souter to notch a 7-2 victory over rival Swarthmore. The Fords will be back in action Friday on the Class of '95 Field against second-seeded Dickinson for a spot in the championship game.

On Wednesday, women's lacrosse gets its tournament underway at Dickinson in a 4:30 p.m. start. The conference semifinals and championship game will be hosted by Franklin & Marshall. Baseball begins its postseason journey on Thursday at Franklin & Marshall in a 1 p.m. start. The Fords' final site will be Johns Hopkins.

The Centennial Conference Outdoor Track & Field Championships will run from Friday to Sunday on the campus of Muhlenberg. All the action begins on Friday afternoon with the multi-events before the 10,000 meters wraps up the first day of action on the track under the lights.

Semifinal play for men's and women's tennis begins on Saturday with both teams traveling to Swarthmore as the third-seeded team. The women will face off with the Garnet at 11 a.m. before the men take on Swarthmore at 3 p.m. The winner will advance to Sunday's final at top-seeded Johns Hopkins.
