COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. – The National Strength and Conditioning Association (NSCA) and EAS Sports Nutrition announced that Haverford College baseball player Casey Fox and women’s basketball player Jacquelyne Pizzuto were named 2015 All-American Athletes.

The award recognizes Fox and Pizzuto’s athletic accomplishments and their dedication to strength and conditioning. The two athletes were nominated by Haverford College’s Head Strength and Conditioning Coach Cory Walts.

“Supporting our student-athletes like Jacquelyne Pizzuto and Casey Fox guarantees a stronger future for the NCSA,” said Scott Caulfield, the NSCA’s Head Strength and Conditioning Coach.

Fox is a two-time All-Centennial Conference first team member and was voted to the ABCA All-Mid-Atlantic Region first team and D3baseball.com All-Region third team during his sophomore season. The senior ranks in the top ten in games played (138), runs scored (111), home runs (13), walks (59), hits (163), and most assists (280). “Casey has diligently followed the program through four years, and in doing so, has developed his power and agility to elite levels,” noted Walts. This season, Fox is hitting .290 with a team-high three home runs, 20 RBI along with 14 runs and eight stolen bases.

Pizzuto recently wrapped up her Haverford career with a banner senior campaign. She set the single season program record with 140 assists and an .889 free throw percentage. The senior also had the best assist-to-turnover ratio (3.41) in the country and was 23rd in assists per game (5.2). “Jacquelyne leads through example as her work ethic in the weight room has helped transform herself into one of the top athletes and point guards in Division III,” said Walts. The two-time captain will graduate as the program’s all-time leader in games played (106), minutes played (3,585), assists (407), assists average (3.8), free throw percentage (.846) and three-point field goal percentage (.361).

Walts discussed how proud he was of Fox and Pizzuto, “This is a special award and is well deserved. Casey and Jacquelyne are outstanding athletes, students, most importantly, people. I am a better coach because of them.”
