Six Fords named to conference Sportsmanship teams

LANCASTER, Pa. – The Centennial Conference released its Fall 2009 All-Sportsmanship teams Tuesday afternoon and six Haverford College student-athletes were honored with selection to the lists.

Junior and Second-Team All-Centennial honoree Elias Tousley was the Haverford representative in men's cross country while sophomore Alice Vienneau was selected for the women's cross country sportsmanship team. Both Fords were also members of the league's fall Academic Honor Roll.

Maura Schiefer, a junior and First-Team all-conference selection was chosen for the women's soccer sportsmanship team. In men's soccer, sophomore Steve Griffith was chosen to represent the Fords.

Sophomore Jenine Abbassi, a member of the conference champion volleyball team, earned her sport's sportsmanship nod for the Fords, and freshman Bridget Gibbons was honored with selection to the field hockey sportsmanship team.

To be eligible for conference All-Sportsmanship teams, student-athletes must be nominated by their respective head coaches.
