71 Fords receive recognition on conference academic honor roll

LANCASTER, Pa. - The Centennial Conference released its spring 2014 academic honor roll on Tuesday and 71 Haverford College student-athletes were selected to the honor roll.

To be nominated for the Centennial academic honor roll, a student-athlete must be a sophomore or higher in class standing, must have a cumulative grade point average of at least 3.40, and must have participated in at least 50 percent of contests, matches or meets, or in the Centennial varsity championship in outdoor track and field.

The Centennial Conference champion baseball and softball teams placed a combined 14 student-athletes on the honor roll. Tommy Bergjans, Nick Miranda, Jen DiCandilo, Elizabeth Newman, and Emily Winesett were also all-conference players.

Men's track and field had 20 different athletes earn the academic honor from the conference, including All-Centennial athletes Avi Bregman, Michael Iannacone, Brian Sokas, and Christopher Stadler.

Fifteen athletes from the women's outdoor track and field team were selected for the spring honor roll.

The men's tennis team (6) and women's tennis team (4) combined to place 10 student-athletes on the academic list, and six of those 10 athletes were all-conference performers.

Men's lacrosse put five student-athletes on the honor roll and women's lacrosse had seven players receive recognition to round out the 71 total student-athletes from Haverford.
