Haverford cross country remains ranked in latest USTFCCCA poll

NEW ORLEANS – The Haverford College men’s cross country team holds down the second spot while the women’s cross country is now at 29th in the latest United States Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association poll released on Wednesday.

The men’s team lost its three first-place votes, but is only eight points behind the No. 1 team North Central, which earned all eight first-place votes this week. Haverford posted 272 points to North Central’s 280. The Fords has a 10-point cushion over third-ranked Washington (Mo.) Last week Haverford came in fifth at the 17-team Princeton Invitational.

The women’s team fell five spots to 29th despite a fifth-place finish at last week’s Princeton Invitational.  Williams College is in the top spot for the second straight week.

Both Haverford teams will compete in the Haverford Invitational Friday, Oct. 21. The women’s race begins at 4:30 p.m. and the men’s team goes off at 5 p.m.
