Zoll, Hudak voted onto all-region team

HAVERFORD, Pa. – In the midst of national regional action, D3Baseball.com has released its inaugural All-Region teams with a pair of Fords, catcher Jeremy Zoll and outfielder Alex Hudak, earning third-team honors on the Mid-Atlantic squad.

The players on the Division III all-region teams were nominated by the sports information directors at the various schools and conferences within the eight regions. The 2012 season is the first season for the all-region teams and 713 players were nominated. The ballot was made available to SIDs, who voted for a predetermined number of players in their region, as well as D3baseball.com staff and contributors.

Zoll, a senior, and Hudak, a junior, helped lead Haverford to its first Centennial Conference championship and first NCAA championship tournament appearance. The Fords were 1-2 at the 2012 NCAA Mid-Atlantic regional, winning their second game of the double-elimination tournament by rallying from a 9-1 deficit to advance with an 11-9, 12-inning victory.

Zoll, a first-team all-Centennial selection, led the Fords with a .413 batting average. He was second on the team in slugging percentage (.540), on-base percentage (.506) and walks with 24 on the year. He also collected 32 RBIs on the season. Zoll's 98 RBIs are eighth on the all-time program list and his 148 career hits are tied for eighth-most in program history.

Hudak, a second-team all-conference honoree, registered team highs during the 2012 season in RBIs (43), doubles (20), total bases (94) and slugging percentage (.603) while collecting 63 hits, second-most on the team.
