HAVERFORD, Pa. – Haverford College baseball's Justin Herring was named the Centennial Conference Pitcher of the Week for the first time in his career. Herring struck out 10 batters over seven innings in a 3-2 win against St. John Fisher in the second game of a home-opening doubleheader this past Saturday.

In his excellent outing, Herring allowed just three hits and walked none. It was his second consecutive 10-strikeout performance after also performing the feat on March 11 against Lakeland College in the Gene Cusic Classic in Fort Myers, Fla.

The Haverford sophomore now has three wins in as many starts this season. He has fanned 26 batters over 17.1 innings. Last season, he struck out a total of 30 in 41.2 innings.

The Fords are in action Wednesday when they host Rowan at Kannerstein Field. First pitch is set for 3:30 p.m.
