BALTIMORE, Md. - The Haverford College baseball team defeated Johns Hopkins 7-4 on Sunday at Stromberg Stadium, completing the Centennial Conference Tournament sweep and winning its third conference title since 2012. With the win, head coach Dave Beccaria's team will receive an automatic bid to the NCAA Regionals.

Freshman rightfielder Ethan Lee-Tyson was named Tournament MVP after a stellar showing. Lee-Tyson really caught fire toward the end of the season, batting .667 in the postseason on 10-for-15 hitting with a home run and eight runs scored in three games. In the championship game, he was 2-for-5 with a run scored and his third stolen base of the tournament.

The Fords had the Blue Jays' number all season long, defeating the would-be No. 1 seed in all four of their matchups. Haverford entered the championship game in the driver's seat, considering the Centennial Conference follows double elimination rules and the postseason-undefeated Fords already bested Hopkins on Saturday.

Starting pitcher Grant Finn diced through the Jays' lineup for eight innings before hitting a bump in the ninth to give way for reliever George Hatamiya to close things out. Finn earned his fourth win of the season. Hatamiya earned the save and put a stamp on the tournament with an exclamation point strikeout to end the game.

Offensively, the Fords picked up where they left off with at least one run in four of the first five innings. Johns Hopkins' starting pitcher Trevor Williams was chased after just 4.1 innings.

Designated hitter Sam Partee hit the team's 13th home run in their last five games, a two-run dagger in the bottom of the third inning.

Perhaps no sequence was bigger than a fielding error by Hopkins in the fifth that allowed three Fords to score, deflating the Blue Jays' chances and giving Haverford a 7-1 lead.

Ben Verducci, Spencer Sohmer, and Thomas Vollaro each went 2-for-4 in the game.
