HAVERFORD, Pa. – Haverford senior third baseman Spencer Sohmer was named the Centennial Conference Player of the Week, the conference office announced in a release on Monday afternoon. The co-captain batted .444 with four hits, including a home run, triple and double during three games this week. Sohmer finished the week with seven RBIs and a 1.111 slugging percentage.

Sohmer launched a game-tying home run in the seventh inning of Haverford's come-from-behind victory over Gwynedd Mercy on Monday afternoon. He followed up the performance with a two-RBI triple and a two-RBI double against NYU on Saturday as the Fords downed NYU by a final score of 8-2.

The award is the first for a Haverford player this season and the second overall honor for Sohmer, who also took home the award on May 2 of the 2016 season. Sohmer was named ABCA/Rawlings All-Region in 2016 and was an All-Centennial Conference honorable mention in the same season.

Haverford returns to action on Tuesday with a matinee at Kannerstein Field against No. 5 Rowan. The Fords and Profs will get underway at 3:30 p.m.
