GLASSBORO, N.J. - The Haverford College baseball team (9-6) fell to No. 11 Rowan (10-3) in matinee action on Tuesday at the Rowan Baseball Complex, dropping a 21-5 decision to the hosts. The contest was called due to darkness after eight full innings of play.

Rowan struck for 10 runs over the first four innings, but Haverford still had a strong chance to climb back into the contest despite the hot start offensively for the Profs. Pranav Rane walked and came into score on a throwing error in the third, and Haverford pushed another run across in the fifth inning, as Daniel Rosman reached on an error while Jonny Flieder and Jack Wallis each walked with two outs. Kyle Beach laced a single to score Rosman, as Haverford trimmed the lead to 10-2.

Flieder drew a bases loaded walk in the sixth to push another run across for the Fords, and Haverford rallied again in the seventh with two out. Chuck Norton singled and stole second ahead of a walk to Rane. Harry Genth also walked, and Rosman was hit by a pitch, as Haverford used some wildness from the Rowan pitching staff to trim the lead to just 10-5 as the game entered what proved to be its penultimate inning.

Unfortunately for Haverford, a Jason Morgan three-run homer proved to be a big difference maker in the bottom of the frame, as Rowan rallied for 11 runs in the final two innings to break things wide open.

Zach Becker had the lone extra base hit for the Fords on Tuesday, lashing a double while Genth, Rosman, Flieder, and Beach each picked up an RBI. Mitchell Pagano tossed 2.1 innings allowing just two hits and striking out a pair in a solid relief turn for the Fords.

Zach Grace of Rowan was credited with the victory on the mound with five innings pitched, allowing three hit but walking five and striking out five. Morgan had five RBI to pace the Profs.

The Fords now return to action on Thursday, back at home to welcome another NJAC side, TCNJ, to Kannerstein Field. First pitch is slated for 3:30 p.m before the Fords return to road action with a non-conference twinbill at No. 4 Salisbury on Saturday afternoon on the Eastern Shore of Maryland.
