Full Centennial Conference Release

HAVERFORD, Pa. - Haverford College sophomore second baseman Harry Genth has been selected to First-Team All-Centennial Conference honors for his exceptional performance during the 2023 baseball season, Haverford's first first-team nod since Will Karp earned the award in 2019.

Genth, a product of Baltimore, Maryland, showcased his impressive skills on the field all season long, earning recognition as one of the top players in the Centennial Conference. With a batting average of .346, an on-base percentage of .463, and a slugging percentage of .568, Genth consistently posed a formidable challenge for opposing pitchers at the top of the Haverford order. 

Throughout the season, Genth recorded 56 hits in 162 at-bats, scoring 46 runs. His offensive contributions included 11 doubles, two triples, and seven home runs, resulting in 38 RBIs. Additionally, Genth showcased his speed on the base paths, stealing 17 bases.

Genth's exceptional performance extended beyond individual achievements. He tallied 15 multi-hit games and eight multi-RBI contests, displaying his ability to deliver in crucial moments. 

Genth led the Centennial Conference in plate appearances and finished third in runs scored. Moreover, he ranked in the top 10 for hits, home runs, and stolen bases. Defensively, Genth demonstrated his versatility and skill on the infield by turning the most double plays in the Centennial Conference, with 29 overall and 16 in conference games. 

His proficiency on the field further solidified his contributions to Haverford's success throughout the season, as the Fords reached the Centennial Conference tournament for the 14th time in the last 17 seasons.

Senior outfielder Oliver Bergeron (Melrose, Mass.) was additionally named to the Centennial Conference All-Sportsmanship team. Bergeron appeared in 10 games this season, with four hits, including a home run, in nine at-bats. He scored three runs and added four RBI. He also logged a scoreless inning on the mound against Dickinson on April 8.
