GLEN ALLEN, Va. – Thirteen Haverford College field hockey players have been named to the 2009 Gladiator by SGI/National Field Hockey Coaches Association (NHFCA) Division III National Academic Squad just days after the Fords earned Gladiator/NFHCA Academic Team honors.

Student-athletes selected for the squad have been nominated by their coaches and have achieved an overall grade-point average of at least 3.30 through the first semester of the 2009-10 academic year.

Juniors Maggie Cronin and Alex Waleko earned their third academic squad honor with Thursday's release of the list. Second-time members of the squad are junior Patrice Harkins, sophomores Molly Braun, Christine Gall, Roxanne Jaffe and Juliana Morgan-Trostle.

Earning initial honors this year are junior Lauren Kemph, freshmen Scarlett Austin, Sarah Crist, Bridget Gibbons, Mary Hobbs and Sydney Hyder.

Jaffe is a First-Team All-Centennial Conference selection as well as a First-Team All-South Region player. Hobbs was named Second-Team all-conference and Waleko earned Honorable Mention all-conference accolades.
